The Developer publicised an exhibition at Lubenham Village Hall on Tuesday the 7th of July from 1500 to 2000 hrs and another on Wednesday the 8th of July at Harborough Theatre Lounge from 1500 - 2000 hrs with the following stated intention “ ...you will be able to find out more about the final project design and you will have the chance to register interest in joining the co-operative.”
Approximately 45 people attended in Lubenham and 26 visited the Harborough exhibition. Most local people declined the opportunity to invest, with the vast majority expressing their dismay and concern about the close proximity of this project to so many homes, businesses, schools and the prison.

After months of inactivity the developers web site has been partially updated, a small advert has appeared in the Harboprough Mail promoting the developers exhibitions prior to applying for planning permission. We are studying the limited information available and intend to bring this site up to date in the next week. Ends.

A spokesman for the developer informed Lubenham Parish Council on 9/03/09 that they now expected to put forward a planning application at the end of April ‘09 - or possibly the beginning of May ’09. The final position of the turbines is still being “micromanaged” and should be completed by the end of the week. It would then take a further 8 weeks to prepare the application. Ends.

Energy4All held an exhibition in the Methodist Church Hall Northampton Road, Market Harborough. 35 people attended (figures given by Energy4All.) Ends.

Energy4All held an exhibition in Lubenham Village Hall. Approximately 90 people attended. Ends.

Blimp flown at Scarecrow Weekend 2008

Thousands of visitors were expected to attend the annual Lubenham Scarecrow Weekend. Some villagers decided to demonstrate their concerns by flying a tethered balloon from the hill above the village. The balloon is approximately 20 feet long by 8 feet at its widest point. It was flown at a height of less than 125 metres, so no one could be accused of scare tactics - we shocked ourselves with how much it dominated the village.
Visitors and villagers alike expressed views that no one should be expected to live with such huge turbines so close to homes. Ends.

29th July 2008; A Village meeting called by Lubenham Parish Council voted to oppose the project.
Previously the meeting heard a presentation by John Malone and Professor John Twidel representing the developer Energy4All and a villager who spoke in opposition. Ends.

23rd of July 2008: Harborough District Council officially approved planning permission for the temporary anemometer mast. Ends.

June-July 2008 over 500 objection letters

In June and July 2008 the application for a 50 metre high temporary anemometer was vigourously opposed by the local community. Well over 500 people wrote letters of objection to the planning authority. Ends.
